Project Case Study - Fort Lupton
Site: Fort Lupton, Colorado
The South Platte Valley Historical Society has, over the last 20 years, assembled a 100-acre site upon which the original Fort Lupton fur trading post was located. The society wants to reconstruct the Fort, the last wall of which was removed in 1981, in as close to the original early 19th-century configuration as is possible, . The research to support this effort has been very intense with numerous, often-contradictory results, all of which have required site and archaeological interpretation by the Collaborative.
