As we enter a time in our history where global warming is critical and conservation has become a way of life, historic preservation is being recognized as an important component in a sustainable world. The Collaborative strives to take conservation to the next level, not only by conserving the existing built environment but also by making our current projects as energy efficient as possible. By having 38 years of experience in preservation, with projects in every climate the United States has to offer, the firm has a depth of knowledge of how passive energy savings was utilized in the past, and how to take advantage of it for current and future projects. In addition, the firm has expertise in the latest technologies and how to adapt them to historic structures. The combination can lead to significant energy savings using methods that are not always recognized by the common rating systems.
We believe that the challenges ahead will revitalize historic preservation and we are ready to lead the way.
